I was lucky enough to attend the do617 launch party event a few weeks back.
Ironically enough, I stumbled upon the Austin version (do512) while I was doing some research for my trip. The basis behind do617 and all of the other area codes, is to be the hub for information regarding music happenings throughout each respective city. They do a great job of aggregating all the upcoming shows onto their interactive calendar that allow users to purchase tickets, while linking to social media to "see who else is going". Of course membership is free, and there are mos definitely some great contests that you can enter.
Wish I got to stay to show support to my friends in the Bad Rabbits, but The Field Effect was awesome!
