Boston Ramen Tour – Ganko Ittetsu – Best of Boston 2016 Winner

So I’ve been meaning to write about this place for a while now. What reminded me to review this place was that I now live pretty close to it, and a couple of friends were asking about where to get ramen in the city.

So this place is pretty easy to miss. It’s tucked away in an old school arcade (a strip with retailers on either side) right near the movie theatre – but once you locate where it’s at you’ll never forget it.

Once inside, you’ll realize hard and fast that this place doesn’t mess around. Seat yourself, there’s not that many to choose from, and grab yourself a menu. There’s really only a few Sapporo ramen options to choose from, all of them are good so don’t worry about choosing the wrong thing.

Tan Tan, Miso, Shoyu, and Shio!

For this stop on the tour I sat at the bar and chose tan tan.

The broth was rich and sumptuous, not that oily at all. There was just enough spice to open those airways but not so much that it was overpowering to the point that you can’t taste anything.

The noodles had one of the best bites I’ve had here in Boston. That’s probably due to the fact that Chef Ken went to Japan to the Nishiyama Seiman factory in order to choose the customized type

The meat was very flavorful, only critique was that there wasn’t enough of it L, but a great amount of garnishes.

The staff was super friendly and I definitely would recommend Ganko Ittetsu to any avid ramen seeker, or first-time eater.
