"The age of un-innocence"
There are so many ways that we can find out information these days. If I wanted to I could find out what style house you grew up in, how many bathrooms, if you’re a sex offender, not to mention where you might has visited in the past year- all through a few taps and a couple of taps. The idea that your life is now supposed to be public is okay, better yet if you’re not doing it for the gram did it really even happen?
"No one has breakfast at tiffany’s or affairs to remember. Instead we have breakfast at 10 am and affairs we try to forget as quickly as possible."
This still hold true, why settle? With so many apps, sites, and groups there’s really no need to go out and “meet people” any more, in fact – I’m not really even sure when the last time one of my friends met someone “the old fashion way” (what does that even mean?). Instead, we live in this world where we can order groceries through our phones, hire someone for an hour or two to help us move, or buy an entire new wardrobe with one hand. Because of that, we’ve become way more picky. Don’t like his eyebrows, next. Can’t stand his shirt, cya. He’s cute, but….what else is out there. It’s the what else.what’s next.what’s greener that’s killing the dating scene in my opinion. Affairs to forget definitely still happen – speaking on the realness here, but we can avoid it all if we don’t like the pictures they’ve chosen for their online profile in an instant.
"Self-protection and closing the deal are paramount."
We live and die by this – why get hurt? It’s much easier to juggle 6 different people than to commit to one and risk feeling awkward or uncomfortable right?
Cupid has flown the co-op.
"Why are there so many great (unmarried) -> single women, and so few single men"
Meh – I think there are equal amount of both genders who are single in Boston, but that could just be me. We have one if not the highest population of people who are under 30.
"Women having sex like men"
Tried it, it’s awesome – if you agree with the idea that men are the only ones that think like this in the first place. I clearly don’t. I’ll beat your ass in a first person shooter game, get off, and get on with my day before I let someone walk all over me. It’s the ones that you feel awkward and uncomfortable with that you let win – sometimes.
Having relations “without feeling anything” honestly can be way easier. Until one of the people involved develops feelings right? I’ve never really had this happen, or maybe I’m just an asshole…?
"Women giving up on love and throttling up on power"
I 100% have done this. “I don’t have time for this right now” or “it’s not in the plan” all things I or my friends have said at one point or another. And I stick by that shit. There are some points in your life where you really do need to focus 100% on yourself, and are selfish without consequence. Yes – you probably could balance things to a degree, but there instances where it’s just not going to happen right now, and that’s okay.
